![]() Prior to the Let’s Colour project, Dulux organized a painting training for local painters. ![]() Helping painters become masters of their craft Red symbolizes courage and mutual respect, yellow majesty and rule, while black stands for strength, mercy, and wisdom. ![]() According to this traditional West Sumatran culture, every color has its own meaning. In addition, the 156-meter long Siti Nurbaya Bridge was painted in local Marawa colors, part of the traditional identity of Minangkabau. As part of the plan to preserve the cultural heritage and restore Padang Old Town, more than twenty-five historical buildings have been renovated, preserving the original architecture and its distinctive white color. Let’s Colour partnered with the Padang City Council to conduct their major renovation program, which aims to breathe new life into the city. The main attractions of the city are the Old Town, with many heritage buildings, and the popular sightseeing spot, Siti Nurbaya Bridge. Padang, once a historic trading center, is now a popular entry point for surfers traveling to the Batu and Mentawai Islands and for tourists visiting the West Sumatran highlands. New life for the historical center and bridge But besides reviving the appearance of the city, this colorful transformation means much more to the people and local community. Let’s Colour brought a fresh new look to Padang, Indonesia, by renewing the local heritage buildings in Padang Old Town and by adding colors to the iconic Siti Nurbaya Bridge.
